The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to music education for America’s youth. The Foundation is particularly interested in projects that foster creative expression (whether in instrumentation, vocalization, composition, or improvisation) and encourage applications associated with diverse or unusual musical styles, genres, forms, and philosophies. Grants may include the provision of instruments, texts, office materials, or equipment; the support of learning, practice, and/or performance spaces; and the provision of instructors or instruction. There is a two-step application process. First submit an initial inquiry by January 15. Inquiries are reviewed and only those selected are invited to submit a full proposal.
