The Christopher Columbus Award offers up to $25,000 to teams of middle school students in a nationwide Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Students work in teams of 3 to 4 students along with an adult coach to identify a problem in their community and propose a solution to solve that problem in an innovative manner.

Eight (8) finalist teams will be selected to travel to Walt Disney World in Florida for the national championship week. Finalists will compete for cash prizes and the $25,000 Christopher Columbus Community Grant and a $200 development grant to further the winning idea.
