This dashboard provides information on each state that has received a Charter Schools Program (CSP) grant for State Educational Agencies (SEAs) from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). Clicking on "View Resource" will take you to the main navigation page for the dashboards. The weblinks to the right of the navigation page will bring you to information for each state with a grant under this program. This information for each state is organized in a series of tabs with key information about the state’s CSP grant and charter sector. The CSP provides funds to support new public charter schools; to expand and replicate high-quality charter school networks; and to disseminate information about effective practices within charter schools. The CSP also funds initiatives that reduce the costs of charter school facilities and other national initiatives that support charter schools.

SEAs use their CSP funds to award subgrants to charter schools in their state. These subgrants are used for two primary purposes. The bulk of funding provides start-up grants to new charter schools that assist with planning, program design, and initial implementation of new charter schools. States may also award dissemination grants to successful and established charter schools that help these schools to disseminate information on their best practices and material to other public schools. The dashboards provided by the National Charter School Resource Center (NCSRC) summarize statistics, roll up budgets, and provide details on subgrants to schools to develop a story of each state's grant program.
