Charter School Performance in Pennsylvania
This April 2011 report from the Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO) at Stanford University evaluates Pennsylvania charter schools, both cyber and bricks and mortar, and compares performance to traditional public schools.
The analysis is based on data from 2006 to 2010 involving 73,085 charter school students in grades 3 to 8 from 116 charter schools. Student performance is broken out based on a variety of factors, including race and ethnicity, poverty, English Language Learner status, special education status, and students who repeat grades. Policy recommendations are made based on the findings. The report is an expansion on the 2009 CREDO National Charter School Study Multiple Choice: Charter School Performance in 16 States.
