SEA Communities of Practice: Linking High-Quality Charter Schools to Areas of Need

Authorizers and charter school leaders from across the country participated in an interactive webinar on August 18, 2010, Linking High-Quality Charter Schools to Areas of Need, which was hosted by the National Charter School Resource Center at Learning Point Associates. The featured presenter was Jose Cerda III, Vice President of Public Policy and Communications at IFF, who highlighted three recent IFF reports that describe the distribution of high-performing schools in Chicago, St. Louis, and Milwaukee. Greg Richmond, President and CEO of the National Association of Charter School Authorizers, discussed how IFF's methodology can be used by authorizers or Charter Schools Program grantees at state education agencies to increase the number of charter schools in communities that lack high-quality educational options.
